Hence, to help baby recover from jaundice faster, you have to give baby as much milk as possible.
Note: "Giving water or glucose feeds will not lower the jaundice. Since bilirubin is excreted from the body in the stools, breastfeed your baby frequently to encourage frequent bowel movement."

"A common condition in newborns, jaundice refers to the yellow color of the skin and whites of the eyes caused by excess bilirubin in the blood. Bilirubin is produced by the normal breakdown of red blood cells.
Normally, bilirubin passes through the liver and is excreted as bile through the intestines. Jaundice occurs when bilirubin builds up faster than a newborn's liver can break it down and pass it from the body."~ taken from kidshealth.org

Then I started to graze on the blanket cos I want milk!
another important thing to note: Jaundice causes babies to be sleepy.
but Don't allow baby to sleep as much as he wants
but you've gotta wake baby up for milk!
Make sure you feed baby every 2-3 hours so that baby can pass out bilirubin as quickly as possible.
I've recovered from jaundice on my 2nd week.
glad you've recovered. You happened to be the three-fourths of Premature babies who have this condition.
